This volume opens up a series of monographs on the chemistry of heterocyclic compounds, based on the newest data obtained at universities and research institutes in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and other republics of the CIS and Baltic states and includes reviews of the world achievements in this sphere.

Volume 1 is a collection of invited reviews (and selected synthetic procedures) on some aspects of the synthesis, characterization, properties, and biological activity of nitrogen-containing heterocycles.
Volume 2 is devoted to the synthetic chemistry and biology of oxygen- and sulfur-containing heterocycles.
