Publications

In the opinion of most participants, the Conference has been organized on a high international level. Some comments of participants are given below.

Prof. M.O. Lozinskii (Kiev, Ukraine): "It is really a great, unforgettable, and fortunate gift of fate to participate in such a representative forum and to hear the lectures delivered by the leading figures (classics) of organic chemistry: À. Katritzky (USA), H. van der Plas (the Netherlands), J. Bergman (Sweden), R. Huisgen (Germany)."

Prof. G.L. Kamalov (Odessa, Ukraine): "I am much impressed by a well-organized and careful work of the Organizing Committee, both in the period of preparation and during conference days. Besides the representative regular meetings on the chemistry and bioactivity of heterocycles sponsored and organized by InterBioScreen (IBS), of great importance for further advance in the field is the high-quality publication (both in Russian and English) of the Proceedings in the form of hard and soft copies (on CD) as well as of the Series of IBS Monographs on synthesis and modification of various heterocycles. In my opinion, the conferences organized by IBS are very important for the establishning and strenthening of international cooperation, especially urgent for the workers from the countries of the former Soviet Union. Special thanks to Prof. V.G. Kartsev for his efforts, selfless devotion, enthusiasm, benevolence, and energy."

Prof. V.Ya. Sosnovskikh (Yekaterinburg, Russia): "By its level, the Conference is not inferior to the European ones and is becoming a most representative one in Russia. I liked everything - reception, accomodation, food, high quality of presentations, quality of printed materials, etc. You are doing a very useful and urgent job: we, provincial chemists, had here a chance to see and hear the real classics of organic chemistry, such as R. Huisgen and A. Katritzky."

Prof. S.F. Vasilevskii (Novosibirsk, Russia): "This conference is a really important event for Russian chemists due to participation of numerous eminent foreign and Russian scientists. I wish the Organizing Committee and its chairman, Prof. V.G. Kartsev, to keep this tradition in the future. The Conference was well organized: the proximity of accomodation sites, catering, and session halls was very convenient and time-saving. The secretariat worked neatly and consistently; the technical support was reliable. The Program and time-table were kept within announced limits. I am much grateful to Prof. V.G. Kartsev and all the Organizing Committee for their efforts and wish them a success in the future."

Dr. A.L. Mikhal'chuk (Minsk, Belarus'): "I cannot help speaking about the Conference without using superlative expressions and complimentary epithets. The organizers provided us with excellent facilities for demonstrating illustrative materials, a well chosen place for the conference, brilliant informational support before and during the conference, and splendid published materials."

Our foreign participants - Alan Katritzky (USA), Henk van der Plas (the Netherlands), Jan Bergman (Sweden), Rolf Huisgen (Germany), Saverio Florio (Italy), Anil Saxena (India), Orazio Attanasi (Italy), John Dearden (UK) -expressed their gratitude to the Organizing Committee for a cordial welcome. They also expressed their appreciation and gratitude to V.G. Kartsev personally for his selfless devotion and enormous efforts on strengthening the links between the chemists all over the world, thus promoting progress in such an important field of knowledge as the chemistry of heterocyclic compounds.

The participants also made some proposals as concerning both the scientific program and some organizational details.
