"Scientific Partnership"

Non-commercial Charitable Foundation Scientific Partnership is a public organization set up to unite scientists from the CIS, Baltic states, Europe, the USA, Canada and Japan who are involved in the discovery, research and application of biologically active compounds and drugs developed from such compounds.

Building on the excellent core of scientific knowledge, the Foundation's objective is to unite scientists in the CIS and Baltic states by coordinating their efforts, to provide mutual aid and create large-scale partnerships (both in the CIS and abroad) in various areas of biotechnology, including the discovery and development of biologically active compounds and drugs.

The Foundation builds its activity on the principles of democracy, openness and equal rights for its members.

The Board of Founders and the Council of Trustees are comprised of the most reputable scientists in the field, members of National academies of sciences, as well as the leading business organizations. The Foundation's key activities are:

To assist CIS scientists to introduce their inventions and patented discoveries to the western markets. The Foundation plans to organize international meetings of Russian and CIS researchers active in the field of the chemistry and biological activity of synthetic and natural heterocyclic compounds. The first International conference "Chemistry and Biological Activity of Nitrogenous Heterocycles and Alkaloids" was held in Moscow, October 9-12, 2001.

The Conference was organized by the Foundation jointly with the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow State University and Interbioscreen Ltd.

II International Conference
on the Chemistry and Biological Activity
of Oxygen- and Sulfur-Containing Heterocycles

will be held
October 14-17, 2003 in Moscow.

The Conference will work in the following three sections:

  1. Chemistry of synthetic heterocycles
  2. Chemistry of natural compounds
  3. Biological activity of oxygen- and sulfur-containing heterocycles.

Targeted synthesis of bioactive compounds The Charitable Foundation Scientific Partnership and the Organizing Committee invite you to participate in the Conference.

One of the most important objectives of the Scientific Partnership Foundation's activity is to support the project "CHILDREN IS THE FUTURE OF OUR SCIENCE".

In 2001, the Scientific Partnership Foundation, with support of Moscow Government, Ministry of Education and a number of commercial companies convened a constituent conference at which a Schoolstudents Academy of Sciences in Russia (SAS) has been founded.

In August 2001, in the context of the SAS project, the Scientific Partnership Foundation with the help of the Chernogolovka administration, organized a contest of schoolchildrens' research works on the basis of the Severtsev Institute of Ecology and Evolution of animals. The participants presented the results of their researches in the field of biology and ecology carried out under the supervision of experienced scientists.

In October 2001 the Scientific Partnership Foundation held a forum of young researchers and students from Moscow region. Several reports of a high scientific merit were presented there.

In November 2001 the Scientific Partnership Foundation organized a conference on the SAS project. Delegations from Russian and Ukrainian schoolstudents scientific societies took part in it.

At present the Scientific Partnership Foundation is working on a "NEW NAMES" scientific program, which aims to discover talented children who take a great interest in scientific investigations. The "NEW NAMES" program includes:

  1. Contests of scientific projects in the field of natural sciences
  2. Annual scientific conferences of schoolstudents
  3. Awards to the authors of the best scientific projects
  4. Master-classes for teachers of natural sciences with the assistance of reputable scientists, members of the Russian and National Academies of Sciences.
  5. Publication of research works of schoolstudents
